Be the solution, solve the problem.

Exercise is quickly growing as a co-treatment of choice for most medical conditions — helping to reduce costly surgical interventions and hospitalisations.

DMA’s Clinical Pilates™ model is unique, breaking the cycle by solving the problems behind the symptoms.

You’ll learn to develop a focused clinical pathway, matching exercise treatments to individual patients within a reliable outcome prediction model.

The course uniquely focuses on pathoanatomy, treatment pathways, pathology and differential diagnosis, allowing you to manage and simplify chronic complex patients with greater confidence and demonstrable outcomes.

With the latest research moving beyond Structure-Based Classification & Treatment (SBCT), DMA’s Clinical Pilates Movement Based Classification & Treatment (MBCT) approach breaks new ground and is backed by interrater-reliability research.

No other Pilates course has its sights set on the future of health reform and the vital role physiotherapists will play in the fast-evolving healthcare landscape.

Get certified now and be part of the solution, not the problem.

      Stay practising for longer

According to PhD physiotherapy research, the average career length for qualified physiotherapists has steadily reduced to five – seven years, with an alarming attrition rate of 50%.

The current model of Structure-based Classification and Treatment is gaining less support in the literature and is not working well in the long term— for both patient and practitioner.

By introducing Clinical Pilates™ Movement Based Classification & Treatment (MBCT) approach into your practice, you can work beyond current protocol driven programmes and  break the churn and burn cycle to treat patients differently, solving the problems behind the symptoms.

You’ll develop deeper relationships with your patients, working with them for longer, and enjoy using a proven clinical pathway to treat them successfully within a reliable outcome prediction model backed by ongoing research.

Your professional life will become far more rewarding—and you can look forward to a steadier, more prosperous income stream.

With Clinical Pilates™ your future looks brighter.

Is this the best Clinical Pilates course?

Yes, DMA Director, Craig Phillips introduced Clinical Pilates to Australia in 1988 after a long association with Pilates training. Since then, he has pioneered research at the Masters, Doctoral and PhD levels which continues to this day. This is the only course applying the transitional evidence model into clinical practice.

      What is Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is a treatment exercise model based on the original Pilates exercises.

DMA introduced Clinical Pilates in Australia in 1988 to meet the growing ‘Exercise as Medicine’ recommendation.

Our approach has been subject to independant research  at masters, doctorate & PHD levels and is the only Pilates approach to be scrutinized and found effective at these levels. The focus is sub-grouping patient presentations using a proven decision-making algorithm as ‘every patient is different’, and that difference is their response to directional exercise loading. This is not an homogeneous exercise protocol approach, it’s a heterogenous, cutting edge pathology treatment tool.

      Who created Clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates evolved from his work with atheletes, dancers and performers leading to groundbreaking research, which is being adopted by high-level sports teams, researchers and clinicians.

By partaking in the DMA Clinical Pilates courses and certification, I have been well supported, primed with knowledge and provided the clinical skills to offer each of my clients the best evidence based treatment program to assist in their recovery. I love that Clinical Pilates treatment enables any person of any physical and emotional level to partake in a specifically tailored program to work towards what is important to them. Clinical Pilates has formed a significant role in my assessment and treatment of clients and has enhanced my skills as a practitioner. Thank you DMA for such a professional, valuable and engaging pathway.

Physiotherapist B(Physio), APAM, Fresh Start Physio

As a musculoskeletal physiotherapist passionate in the area of treating dance and performance sports, I strongly recommend DMA courses and certification to others who are wanting an active, evidence-based treatment style that is specific to the individual.

DMA is systematic and holistic, allowing me to treat the whole system rather than one area. It is a working collaboration between the physiotherapist and patient, permitting all persons at any physical level the opportunity to be assessed and treated using a personalised program. Thus, it aims to address patient goals, acute and chronic disorders, neurological conditions and effectively can be used as maintenance / prevention programs for long term management. It’s also exciting to witness functional changes within treatment time.

Craig is extremely knowledgeable, inspiring and very entertaining. The whole team have shown immense support and have been very efficient and friendly to communicate with. Thank you DMA for broadening my clinical knowledge with such professionalism.
